Mind Renewal – Day 10

January 12, 2020

Thankfulness – the growth is amazing. Today. Jada. My family. my Friends. My marriage. Ups and downs of life.

Step 1 (captivate Thoughts) – last night was the first time I was able to use my active reaches and new thought patterns in a disagreement with my husband. He overreacted to something he thought I was saying and I began to get annoyed, but speaking truth allowed me to get back to a peaceful situation and find common ground and understanding.

Step 2 (focused reflection) – I am catching myself anticipating my husband being upset with me quite often. I try to justify the thoughts by saying I’m making sure I’m prepared, but that’s only 1/2 the truth. The other part of that comes from ‘fear of man’ and a negative prophesy toward him and didn’t allow me to see him the way that God does – it is creating a wall instead of moving toward him.

Step 3 (journal) – What I allow myself to think about and hold onto is what will run my life. I only want God as the head of my life. Love is my missing link that needs work and focus right now. so each toxic thought that comes in will be replaced wtih how can I show love now.

Step 4 (pray and listen) – snuggle with my husband today. Take thoughts captive and love instead of feel defensive. All thoughts through a godly lens. check in with God often.

Step 5 (active reach) – Check every thought and action. Who can I love right now should be my focus and send a text or email with each thought. each time I feel myself saddened by Tim – hug him.
