Pizza Crust for the Win

Homemade pizza has become a weekly event ever since I discovered this pizza dough recipe. You can even use a cast iron skillet to make it super crispy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet of active dried yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 4 and ½ cups (packed) all-purpose flour (usually a bit more)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Pizza/Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder and butter (optional)

Put warm water in a bowl and still the sugar into the water to dissolve.

Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it activate for 2-5 minutes

Mix in the flour and Italian seasoning and mix together till it’s hard to stir then use your hands to knead the dough till it fully comes together.

Let it rise for 30min to 2 hours (depends on the house tempurature)

Split the dough into two crusts and roll out to fit on your pizza pan

Bake for 5 minutes

Top with desired toppings (mix the butter and garlic powder and brush it on the crust to make it flavorful and crispy)
